Our mission is to be the premier community services center for seniors in the San Francisco Bay area.  We offer a caring and safe alternative to home health services, nursing homes or assisted living facilities.

Statement of Need

Many of our community’s older adults are socially isolated and don't get out often or see others their own age. Some need some help in self-care or require supervision. For example, they may be partially dependent on others or in need of good nutrition.  Also, caregivers for the elderly often need assistance. Caring for a loved one requires both time and energy.  It can be an exhausting, full-time job. Our services can give families time to meet their own needs, while having the comfort of knowing that their loved one is being cared for by licensed or certified professional care staff.

Focus

Our Family Circle Foundation strives to impact the lives of senior citizens and their families through positive objectives:

• To provide community services for seniors;

• To offer senior citizens, their families, and other community residents educational programs, recreational activities, physical fitness, and community resource information;

• To provide our programs and services during classes, meetings, seminars and workshops at various times and locations in the community;

• To provide community resource information, e.g., referrals to health agencies when appropriate.

Who We Are

The Our Family Circle Foundation is a nonprofit public benefit organization located in Oakland, California, and was founded in 2006 by Linda Hambrick-Jones and committed Board of Directors.  It was established to provide a safe, nurturing and excellent supportive environment for seniors and their families living in the San Francisco Bay area. 

Linda Hambrick-Jones and the Board recognized a growing need for viable programs and activities for seniors from various socio-economic backgrounds.
